L’Olanda batte 3-1 gli Stati Uniti al Khalifa International Stadium e accede ai quarti di finale, dove affronterà la vincente di Argentina-Australia. In avvio Noppert salva su Pulisic, mentre dall’altra parte Depay non perdona e firma il vantaggio su assist di Dumfries. Nel recupero del primo tempo Blind (su un’azione fotocopia del primo gol e altro assist dell’interista) trova il raddoppio. Gli americani la riaprono nell’ultimo quarto d’ora grazie al neo-entrato Wright, ma Dumfries fa 3-1 e chiude i giochi per l’Olanda.
